SASA Teens: for youth 7th -10th grade: Paint Your Flag

  • Serendipity Art Hub 708 Davis Ave N Thief River Falls USA (map)

*In the month of January this class is being offered on a Thursday two weeks in a row. After January it will return to Thursday on the first full week of the month and Thursday on the 3rd full week of the month. Class start is 4:30 but attendees are welcome to arrive early to work on projects or just hang out.

Paint Your Flag - A Creative Exploration

Participants will make two flags in the workshop. One flag will be for display at the Hub, representing community spirit and creativity, while the second will be a personal keepsake for home, reflecting individual expression. Please come to class with a word, phrase, or quote that represents who you are.

Both flags will use various painting techniques for added color and texture. Participants are encouraged to include symbols, colors, and patterns that reflect their own experiences and values. This process promotes belonging within the Hub and offers a chance for personal reflection. All materials will be provided, allowing everyone to engage fully. At the end, participants will share their flags to celebrate diversity and artistic expression.

Targeted Art Lesson Plans to Support Your Child's Creativity

At Serendipity Art Hub, we know how important it is to support creativity in children. Participating in art, like painting or drawing, helps their thinking and emotional growth. These activities let children share their feelings and ideas in their own ways.

Exploring different art forms not only improves their skills but also increases their confidence. By providing a safe space for them to express themselves, you help them build their identity and emotional awareness. Group art projects encourage friendships, teaching kids to work together and communicate.

We believe that supporting your child's artistic journey leads to valuable experiences they will cherish forever. Join us in a creative adventure to enhance your child's art experience!

Class Schedule Information for Parents

Meeting Frequency:
Classes will be held twice a month on Thursdays from 4:30-6:00pm, typically during the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month. Please refer to the current calendar for exact dates as occasionally we need to modify the schedule.

Please note that if the first of the month falls within a partial week, that week will not be counted as the first week of the month. This means that:

  • The 1st Thursday of each month will occur in the first full week.

  • The 3rd Thursday will take place in the 3rd full week of the month.

We encourage parents to check our calendar each month for specific class listings and topics.
